Terry Margaret Hersom

Obituary For Terry Margaret Hersom

Terry Margaret Hersom passed away January 21, 2025 at the age of 74.

Terry was born October 26, 1950, in Eugene, Oregon. She grew up in Seattle and graduated from Nathan Hale High School. Terry inherited a strong work ethic from her parents. At the age of 15, she started working in her Dad’s shoe business and remained employed there for 15 years until her Dad retired and sold the business. Terry joined the Federal Aviation Administration and worked in the Airway Facilities Operations office primarily as a program analyst. After 31 years, she retired in March 2021.

In February 1982, Terry married George A Giggey where they settled in Kent, WA to this day. One of their favorite places to vacation was Hawaii. A couple of Terry’s hobbies were golf and water aerobics. In 2020, she was diagnosed with metastatic cancer. For 5 years, she remained positive throughout the struggles of the various cancer treatments.

She is survived by George after 43 years of marriage. She is also survived by two sisters, Linda Zarou, of Santa Monica, CA and Debra Riggs, of Camano Island, WA.

    I am the physician who helped care for Terry during the final months of her life. She was a brave and remarkable woman who “fought the good fight”. She was smart and very capable. I was honored to be able to work with her during this difficult time. To her loved ones, please accept my condolences and best wishes.
