Obituary For Ronald (Ron) Kenneth Proper Sr.
Ronald (Ron) Kenneth Proper born September 22, 1933 in Spokane, Washington went to be with Jesus on August 28, 2022 in Federal Way, Washington: just shy of his eighty ninth birthday.
After graduating from North Central High School in 1951, Ron enlisted in the United States Navy where he served our country in Pearl Harbor and California. Upon returning home, his family had relocated to Seattle, Washington.
Ron married Alita Mae (Marple) Proper in 1954: God blessed them with a beautiful family of five children: Linda Mae, Debra Ann, Nancy Ann, Geri Lynn and Ronald Kenneth Jr.
At the age of forty-six, Ron suffered a massive heart attack and was given five years to live. By the grace of God, Ron was blessed with an additional forty-two years of life.
Ron loved cars, driving them, working on them, customizing them. He enjoyed doing it for friends, and co-workers at Pacific Northwest Bell, where he worked for thirty-five years. On a Saturday, you could find him at a classic car show.
On May 4, 1985, Ron and Rosemarie Ruth (Moravek) Proper were married. Ron is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Rosemarie Proper and four children; Linda (Bill) Vorthman of Sedro Woolley, Washington, Debra (Jim) Sabo of Smithfield, Viriginia, Nancy (Mark) Syria of Wenatchee, Washington, Ronald (Shanon) Proper Jr. of Stanwood, Washington and one step-son Gregory Castleberry of Federal Way, Washington. Two sisters; Gerry Smith of Midlodian, Texas. Ann (Richard) Larsen of Bothell, Washington, one brother: Wayne (Janice) Proper of Mt. Vernon, Washington.
Grandchildren: Cara (Phil) Marschke, Ryan Richardson, Sarah Johnson, Jimmy (Hannah) Sabo, Margaret (Shahul) Usman, Allison Syria, Alex Salter.
Great grandchildren: Kaya Richardson, Jonah Richardson, Aaron Marschke, Jack Sabo, Skyla Auxier
Great Great Grandchild: Paxton Richardson
Ron was preceded in death by: his parents Virgil Proper and Elsie West Proper, one daughter; Geri Lynn Barefield, son-in-law; David Barefield, granddaughter; Joleighscha Lynn Barefield, one brother-in-law Bruce Smith
The two recipes Ron loved to make were Chili and potato salad and the whole family enjoyed it!!!
