Obituary For Paul I Rehn

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Paul I. Rehn. He passed away on December 6, 2024, in Kent, Washington with his wife of 57 years by his side.

Paul was born on October 22, 1944, to parents Paul and Grace Rehn, joining older sister Loa at their little farm in Orillia, Washington. The area is now incorporated into the city of Kent, bordering Renton city limits.

He served his country in the Big Red 1 division of the U. S. Army in Vietnam in 1965-1966, returning from duty Christmas of 1966. Upon his discharge, he returned to his employment at the Boeing Company in a career lasting 37 years.

He married Iola (Beach) Rehn in September 1967, moving to Seattle. They had one child, son Jeffrey Paul Rehn, born May 27, 1970. Paul and his family moved out of Seattle to their current home in Kent in 1978.

He enjoyed a busy life outside his career; camping, fishing, tennis, traveling, motorcycling and dirt bike riding, and card games Pinocle and Rummy.

Following retirement in 1999, his focus was being a loving, caring family patriarch. He continued his busy lifestyle, but his focus was on his growing family. He was absolutely devoted to his grandchildren; their adoring and adored ‘Papa’. He was so proud of us all, and generous beyond words. One might think he was generous to a fault, but he did not feel that way. His family was paramount in his life.

He is survived by his wife, Iola Rehn, daughter-in-law Jessica Rehn, granddaughter Hallie Rehn, grandson Colton Rehn, sister Loa Enos, niece Beth Enos, sister-in-law Bobbie Hallock, and numerous loving cousins.

He was preceded in death by beloved son, Jeffrey Paul Rehn September 20, 2024, parents Grace and Paul Rehn, father-in-law & mother-in-law Bob and Viola Beach, brother-in-law Lee Hallock, nephew Gregory Lee Hallock, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

He was organized and forward thinking throughout his life, and we have come to greatly appreciate his thoughtful preparations for his future and ours. With loving devotion, he is still providing strength and purpose for our little family.

Honorable mention to life-long friend Richard and our dear friend Evelyn, who introduced Paul to Iola those many years ago that began this amazing journey until death do us part.

Paul is with his Heavenly family now and what a reunion that must be. We’ll join you and Jeff and be together again at God’s appointed time. We say goodbye, love, but for a while, and Thanks for the Memories!

Private interment at Greenwood Memorial Park.

A memorial celebration of life for both Paul and our son Jeff will be held at a later date.

I will always remember my Brother-in-law Paul for his friendship, generosity and kindness, so skilled and so organized in all areas of his life. About his generosity, my husband Lee and I never mentioned items that we liked or needed because Paul would surprise us with them. God Blessed our family with you Paul and because of your faith in God I know we will be together again in Heaven. Until then rest in peace dear friend. Bobbie
