Obituary For Margaret Elizabeth Pace
Margaret E. "Maggie" Pace, formerly of Washougal, WA passed away on April 14th in Renton, WA at the age of 71. She was born in Pacific County, WA on September 24th, 1950 to parents George and Noreen Robinson and graduated from Ilwaco High School.
In 1972 she moved to Washougal where she raised her three boys and lived until moving to Seattle in 2014. Maggie volunteered in her son's classrooms, helped coach their baseball teams, and supported numerous drama productions. She was known for her immense talent and love of crafting. From making quilts for her family to crocheting, she loved to work with her hands while watching her favorite mystery shows or cheering on her Seattle Mariners. Holidays in particular are where she really shined. Whether it was making elaborate homemade Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren or homemade Christmas tree decorations for a new theme every year, Maggie wanted every holiday to be special. You could always count on a giant spread of her favorite dishes and an open door for anyone who needed a place to celebrate.
Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard K. Pace. She is survived by her three sons, William "Butch" Steigmann and Stanley "Joe" Steigmann, both of Washougal, and James "Bubba" Pace of Seattle. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Joseph Cornwall and Ashlyn, Ally, & Will Steigmann.
Maggie was an organ donor and with her beautiful gift of sight and cornea donation, a 12-year old is able to see again. A private family celebration of life will take place later this summer in Seattle.

Sorry to hear of this passing. I was a school teacher in Washougal and had Butch as a student. I remember his mom, Elizabeth, helping out with holiday parties. She was a fine person and will be missed. Mike McCrary Camas, WA
