She is preceded in death by two husbands, Marlyn Stone and Garth Cantelon.

Lucille was born on April 16, 1936, in Muncie, Indiana to John N. and Ruby E. (Curtis) Southworth. She graduated in 1954 from Elmhurst High School, Ft Wayne, Indiana. She married Marlyn Stone in 1956 and moved to the Tacoma area where she remained until her death. Her children fondly remember her as a kind, loving and supportive mother who encouraged them to pursue their dreams. After the passing of her husband in 1993, she later married Garth Cantelon in 1998 until his death in 2017. She is remembered as a loving and caring wife to both.

Lucille was a devout woman of faith, a born-again Christian, and a lifelong member of First Assembly of God Life Center in Tacoma. She was also active in the Shari Lee Thomas Orthopedic Guild, the local Dorcas Society, and a volunteer leader for Campfire Girls. She cherished the time spent traveling abroad with her first husband. She also enjoyed her many friendships and her weekly card games with them.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am on June 29 at Life Center chapel with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lucille’s life. Flowers for the memorial or donations to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warriors Foundation are appreciated. The family would like to thank all of her friends and Nantucket West neighbors for their kindness and efforts in supporting her during her illness.
