Recent Obituaries

Karen Sharee Drake, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away March 21st, 2022, at the age of 76. She had a brief battle with cancer and spent her last days surrounded by family and friends in Kent, Washington.

Born to parents Homer and Marjorie Evans on February 19th, 1946, in Casper, Wyoming. She spent her childhood years in Vancouver, Washington and her adult years in Tacoma, Washington. Karen spent her professional career as a transportation operator driving for two school districts, eventually retiring from Franklin Pierce School District. She then went to drive for Starline Luxury Coaches a private charter company. At Starline she looked forward everyday to the interactions with co- workers and her passengers. Karen would often mention a passenger that rode her coach and would brighten up retelling the story of an interaction or funny moment that they shared together. Anyone who knew Karen could always count on her offering a hug and a listening ear.

Karen was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother Keith Evans. She is survived by her husband Gerald Drake of 30 years, daughters Ramona Hambert (Brent), and Lisa Luck, granddaughters Courtney Dunham (Joshua), Rachel Luck, great granddaughter Calliope Dunham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Saturday April 9th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 11212 17th Avenue East, Tacoma, Washington 98445.
