Obituary For Gerald H. “Bud” Plischke

In the early morning hours of September 24, 2022, our husband, dad, and grandfather, Gerald “Bud” Plischke greeted the angels with the same kindness, dignity and grace that he led his life. A true “gentleman” in every way. Bud had adventure in his heart. At 17 he joined the navy and set off to see the world while defending the United States of America in Korea. In 1955 he embarked on the biggest adventure of his life, marrying Gloria, our mother! From downhill skiing in the Swiss Alps, to the beaches of Cabo San Lucas, fishing at Spirit Lake or in Alaska, Bud was always open to new experiences. He was kind, talented, giving, patient and there was nothing that he couldn’t put together or fix with a little ingenuity. Rest peacefully. We love you always.

Bud is survived by his wife, Gloria, children Jill Reyes (Juan) and Kim Plischke, grandchildren, Corey McClain (Kayla) and Sean McClain, brother, Darrell Plischke (Kathy) and sister Arline Kamp.

Honoring Bud’s wishes, there will not be a formal service. Private family interment with full military honors will be at Tahoma National Cemetery at a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that remembrances be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
