Obituary For Cynthia Kirchner
Cynthia Dawn Kuykendall Kirchner (Cindy) went home to be with Jesus on January 7th , 2021, at age 56, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with Breast Cancer. Cindy was born to Ronald D. and Joy G. Kuykendall on September 13th, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois. As a Child, Cindy enjoyed playing softball, harmonizing with her dad, and chocolate frozen custard.
In 1982 Cindy met Mark Kirchner at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. They married in 1985 and spent the next 35 years learning from each other and growing deeper in love. They had five children, whom she raised with love, devotion, and above all a desire to share her lasting faith in the saving grace of Jesus.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Cindy was a proud flight attendant of nearly ten years at Southwest Airlines, where she was well known and loved for her humor, spunk, and enthusiasm. Throughout her life she was passionate about music and would harmonize with any willing participant. She used her gift by serving on the worship team at church for many years, and blessed her family with the singing of hymns and cherished songs together. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up any room.
Cindy is survived by Husband Mark, Daughters Mallory (Fiancé, Stephen Misner), McKenna Cooke (husband, Jordan Cooke) and Madison. Her sons Colson and Carter and granddaughter Emory Misner, as well as her parents, mother-in-law, siblings, a large extended family.
Cindy gave her life to Jesus at an early age. Her love for and Hope in Him was evident in the way she lived and was reflected throughout her battle with cancer. Even in the end, she desired to be a light to others and that her story would be a testament of Christ’s love and faithfulness. We, her family, grieve our loss, but rejoice in her gain.
Psalm 116:1-2 “I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.”
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 30th at 1:00pm at Grace Fellowship 11135 S.E. 232nd Street, Kent, WA 98031
In addition, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 27th, 2021 at 1:00pm at Grace Community Church 5102 Old National Pike, Frederick, MD 21702

Traveling home from Seattle on a Southwest flight about 2 years ago, I sat next to Cindy and Mark. We talked the whole trip, which I haven’t ever done before. Cindy was so vibrant, beautiful, vital, funny, such a strong spirit. During our unplanned forced landing for plane repair, Cindy led the passengers in numerous games and funny stories. Her spirit was infectious and helped to make everyone enjoy our unplanned stop. . I watched as Mark quietly and lovingly watched her through all the activities. I don’t think I’ve ever met such a strong and vital spirit. We kept in touch via FB messenger, and I considered her and Mark dear friends, even after such a “short” period of time. We all shared the same political and spiritual beliefs. I am so sorry for the loss felt by her family and friends. I also know that they know she is well, out of pain, and home with our Lord. She certainly lived a meaningful, purposeful and fulfilled life. Much love to her loved ones during this hard time.

Your family was always so hospitable and kind, and clearly Cindy got that gift too. I remember enjoying Ron’s solos (“His Eye Is on the Sparrow”), and Cindy also developed a beautiful voice with which to give glory to God for His grace. Thanks for sharing her and her story. May the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
