Obituary For Christopher C. (Kip) Korper, Lt Col USAF, Retired

Christopher Chester (Kip) Korper, Lt Col USAF, Retired, died September 18, 2021 in Seattle, Washington. Born in Hartford, Connecticut on February 23, 1937 to Adolph and Alice (Chester) Korper, Kip graduated from the Kingswood School in 1955, entering Amherst College the same year. Kip enlisted in the Air Force Pilot Training, receiving his Lieutenant bars in 1960, thence embarking on a 28-year career encompassing reconnaissance missions in South America and Guam, to combat rescue aboard HH 53C Jolly Greens in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force in 1988, Kip flew and trained pilots for Boeing until June of this year. He leaves to mourn him, his sons, Kent Christopher Korper, Kevin Curtis Korper and Keath Douglas Korper, his grandchildren, Kasey Korper, Clark Korper, Kristofer Korper, Heather Valenty, Heath Valenty and Travis Field, and sisters, Cynthia Porter (John G. (Jack) Porter) and Candace Killian (Robert K. (Bob) Killian, Jr.), as well as nieces, nephews, and several great grandchildren. Kip was predeceased by his daughter, Margaret Kathleen Korper Field, and grandson, Kristopher Robin Korper. Kip will be missed by all, his family, friends, Habitat for Humanity volunteers, students (skeet, water skiing, fly-fishing, pilots) and vehicles restored to working order. In lieu of flowers, please consider tribute donations to Seattle-King County Habitat for Humanity or Homes For Our Troops (HFOT). A military funeral will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042.
