Obituary For Cheryl Lee Jolly
In loving memory of Cheryl Lee Jolly
Cheryl Lee Jolly, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend departed this world on October 14th, 2023 with family by her side. She left behind a legacy of love, kindness and enduring memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Cheryl was born on February 27th, 1943. She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. She was a beacon of warmth and compassion and would always bring a smile to anyone she met.
Cheryl “Cherry” was raised in the Saint John area of Portland, Oregon. She grew up with her sister Jan and many cousins. She was a devoted niece to her multiple aunts and uncles. Cheryl was a Rose Festival Princess her Senior year of high school and then moved to Seattle to attend Seattle Pacific College (now SPU).
It was at SPU that she met the love of her life, Clifford..The tall handsome senior swept her off her feet. He won her heart and they were married August 25th, 1962. They were blessed with three children; Kim in 1963, Brent in 1965 and Kevin in 1968.
Cliff was a farm boy by heart and in 1969, they moved to Kent to the “farmhouse” and open space. Cheryl embraced this country life whole heartedly by gardening, canning, managing livestock and raising her family. As the kids grew older and become more independent, Cheryl returned to the workforce. She was the manager of Trident Imports and served as “mom” to her many employees.
During the colder months, Cliff and Cheryl loved their getaways to Mexico. Cheryl was an avid reader and loved tending to her rose garden.
Cheryl will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She was a devoted wife to Cliff. A nurturing parent to Kim, Brent and Kevin and cherished grandmother to Trevor, Tyler, Micha, Isabel, Kemper and Wilder and great granddaughter to be very soon. Her family bonds were a source of great joy and strength.
Cheryl is also survived by her best friend and sister Jan. Cheryl had a wide circle of family and friends who will miss her deeply. In their grief they will take solace in the enduring love and memories that Cheryl has left behind.
Per Cheryl’s wishes there will not be a memorial service. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memorandum can be sent to the Parkinson’s Foundation or American Heart Association.
Cheryl may be gone from our sight, but her spirit will live on in countless lives she touched. She will be remembered for her kindness, love and enduring legacy of goodness. May she rest in peace, and continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who knew her.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us everyday unseen, unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed and always dear”.
with love and remembrance,
The Family of Cheryl Jolly
