Obituary For Shevin Estelle Lindsey
Shevin Estelle Lindsey, age 50 passed away surrounded by family and friends on April 5th, 2023, after a long battle with Breast Cancer in Burien Washington.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday May 5th at The North Hill Community Club located at 20827 3rd Ave. S., Des Moines, WA 98198. Please join us in celebrating Shevin’s life.
Shevin was born in Casper, Wyoming on March 4th, 1973, to Larry and Mary Lindsey. Shevin spent her early years living in Casper. She attended elementary school and started attending Junior High School. In 1988 She relocated with her family to Seattle, WA. Shevin attended Franklin, Nathan Hale, and Ballard High School where she graduated in 1991.
Shevin spent the next several years working in the Hospitality Industry honing her talent for providing excellent service for anyone she encountered. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She loved spending time on the waterfront, hanging out in the park and fun times with the family. Family dinners and cook outs were a must. Shevin was short but mighty. She would stand her ground for what she believed in. To know Shevin was to be loved. Shevin had a heart of gold and would give you her last knowing God would meet her need.
On February 2nd, 1999, Shevin gave birth to her only child a son, Darius Rashad Jackson. Shevin loved raising her son. The joy he brought her as a parent was a beautiful thig to see. Shevin worked tirelessly to make sure his needs were met. She kept him surrounded by love and strong role models to prepare him for life. She insures he had a stepfather who remained involved in his life as he developed into a man.
Soon after Shevin completed training to become a CNA. She worked tirelessly for Lifecare Center of West Seattle until they shut down. She then changed careers and went to work for the Hampton Hotel Group. She loved interacting with customers and took great pride in all that she accomplished.
She met the love of her life Daryl Fields around 2017, although she was stubborn and tried to resist, she fell head over heels in love. The two were inseparable and shared a good life.
Her greatest accomplishment was becoming a grandmother in August of 2023. Darius Junior aka DJ was born. Shevin was excited to be a grandmother. She loved DJ with all her might. As the cancer progressed Darius and DJ became her reasons to fight. She wanted to win the battle, but God had other plans.
Shevin is survived by her son Darius Jackson, daughter in law Tyquwanjia Duran, boyfriend Daryl Fields, sisters, Shanon Davis, Sharelle (Kevin) Byrd, Angel Lindsey, brother Larry Lindsey Jr, along with a host of aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shevin was preceded in death by her father and Mother Larry and Mary Lindsey, sister, Shvonne Lindsey, and her grandparents.
