Obituary For Ronald L Nash

Ron Nash passed away August 18th after a very long battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Born in Provo, Utah to Norma Barney Nash & Richard L. Nash. He was the oldest of 4 children. His sisters, Mari Luther (Terry), Lyn Gilmer (Tom), MJ Jones, and brother Michael Nash survive him.

Ron loved telling stories to the kids, grandchildren and friends about all of his adventures in Utah - from riding horses and exploring, working at Spud Nuts, at the bowling alley, and getting into trouble with his cousins - the bond with his cousins was strong and lasted throughout their lifetimes.

Ron enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and worked as a Hospital Corpsman - something he later wished he would have followed through with. While in the Navy, he met his first wife, Catherine Coburn, and they were married for 7 years before she passed away. He later remarried for 6 years - divorced, and finally found happiness and enjoyed 38+ years married to Kathy Bergstrom.

Ron enjoyed many activities throughout his life. Skiing, paragliding, camping, going to the grandchildren's dance recitals, school talent shows, and a lot of their sports activities. He really enjoyed soccer and did everything involved with it . He coached, was a referee, served on a youth soccer board and was equipment manager for the Seattle Storm semi-pro team. He & Kathy loved to take a drive anytime they could, "the Nash way" as the kids called it - any distance was not a problem. When he was no longer able to travel he loved spending time out in his backyard with family and friends.

After retiring from a very long career with Associated Grocers in Seattle, Ron enjoyed working as a Poker Dealer for several casinos in Washington state as his "fun job". No matter what job he had over the years he always did the best to provide for his family Ron is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, aunts & uncles, several cousins, 1st wife Cathy and their 2 children, Michele and Carl Richard. and a special great grandson, Dwayne Kerrigan.

Surviving him are his loving wife Kathy and their awesome kids that he loved very much. Roni Thompson (Jackie), Rory Nash (Patience), Mike Nash (Carmel), Cari Nash, Jeff Summers (Mindee), and Scott Winton. Honorary "Dad" to Alan (Debbie) Jones, Jeanette Wiggins, Gerome, and Donald. Grandkids that he loved : The Thompsons: Catryce, Jaelyn, Emma, Jordyn, and Jaromiah. The Summers : Milena and Trevor The Kerrigans : Chaz and Alex (Querien) The Nashs : Skyla, Wyatt, Adeline, and Isaac Enriquez. Great Grandson he had hoped to meet : Quale Kerrigan

We have an extended family in Washington, Idaho, and Utah and someday he will see them all once again.
