Obituary For Phyllis Louise Hughes

Phyllis Louise Hughes passed away on February 2, 2021 in Puyallup, Washington. She was born in Oregon City, Oregon on February 14, 1954 to Richard and Patricia. Phyllis is preceded in death by her father, Richard Dean Cowan. She is survived by her husband Daniel Paul Hughes, Sr., son Daniel Paul, Jr. (spouse Dawn Marie), daughter Jennifer LeAndra, grandsons Joshua Isaiah and Josiah Daniel, mother Patricia June Cowan, siblings Lois Lee Viaene (sister), Cathy Lynn Baker (sister), Richard Lloyd Cowan (brother), Gordon Lowell Cowan (brother), Marita LaVell Thelander (sister), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Phyllis and Dan were married May 26, 1972. She graduated Hazen High School in June of 1972. Together, Phyllis and Dan had two children, Daniel and Jennifer. Phyllis began her career at Boeing as a temporary secretary, and worked her way up to Project Manager. She retired in 2012.

We would like to thank our family, friends, and the caring staff at Linden Grove Health Care Center, for their love and support in Phyllis' final days. She will be missed greatly and remembered fondly.

    So very sorry to hear about Phyllis' passing. I worked with Phyllis at the Boeing plant in Renton. We worked for the same group as project managers in Facilities. She will be truly missed.

    Phyllis was a very caring person. If you were in a bind, she would drop what she was doing to help you. For those who had Phyllis as a close friend you had a friend indeed. Tom and Faith.

    Phyllis was an incredible wife, mother and friend to many. Most of all what she went thru the past 10 years she endured with grace and a smile. I will miss her very much.
