Paul Alger Haugen
September 17, 1928 - July 18, 2022
Obituary For Paul Alger Haugen
Paul Alger Haugen was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND. Son of Paul and Olga Haugen, on September 17, 1928. He was the fourth child of seven.
Preceding him in death was four siblings, three brothers and one sister, leaving behind two sisters Marian and JoAnn, several nieces, and nephews.
Paul worked for and retired from Fentron Sheet Metal in Seattle as an Iron Worker.
He entered the Army in 1948 and served thru 1951 when he was discharged out of Ft Bliss, TX. After leaving the Army he moved from ND to Seattle to live with his older sister Adeline (Mother of 9 children). A few years later, Paul and 3 other Haugen siblings moved in together (2 sisters and 1 brother), and 4 of them living in their home in Burien.
Paul met and married Carolyn Coleman (then a neighbor in Burien). A few years later they moved to Twisp, WA. They owned and operated a Pear Orchard with his brother Bob, and his wife Joan, as partners. Carolyn was a "Master Gardner" who specialized in artistic designing of dried flowers. While in Twisp, Paul had a stroke causing him to have to use a walker. This did not keep him from driving or working around the Orchard.
After the early death from cancer of his wife, the Brothers sold the Orchard and Paul returned to Burien to be closer to family. He was very independent and did a very good job of taking care of himself. We were all so proud of him for that.
The two hardest things to say in life; For the first time is HELLO And GOODBYE for the last!
We will see you in another life, where we will all be together again.
Funeral Services will be at Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 SE 240th St Kent, WA 98042
