Obituary for Marilyn Kay Cecchi
It is with extreme sadness that the family of Marilyn Kay Cecchi (Heydebreck, Lawrence) announce her passing due to heart complications on November 12, 2020, at her home in Auburn, WA, at the age of 74. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Almando John Cecchi, Jr., of Auburn, WA, daughters Sherri Corine Clark of Auburn, WA and Wendy Darlene Kellison of Maple Valley, WA and numerous extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Jay Lawrence of Boulder, CO, mother Opal DeNora Lawrence of Memphis, MO and father Jacob Benjamin Lawrence of Lansing, IA.
Marilyn was born in Kirksville, MO and lived in many different cities across the U.S. as part of a military family. She eventually settled in Washington State where she had lived for the past 55 years. She worked for The Boeing Company for 35 years until her retirement in 2001. After retirement, she and Almando traveled the country occasionally, visiting family in their RV along with their beloved Dachshund dogs. Marilyn met Almando in 1985 and they fell deeply in love and were married that year. She gained 4 stepchildren by marriage to Almando: Anthony Norman, Autumn Louise, Melinda Therese and Alanna Suzanne, to whom she was always mom.
Marilyn was an extreme Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Monty Python fan, loved going out to eat, playing cards and games, and watching all kinds of movies. She also loved that her daughters were in local musicals and would attend every show they were in, sometimes even traveling out of the state to do so. She knew the lyrics to just about any song you could think of, had a lovely singing voice and an amazing, wicked sense of humor. She was a beautiful and kind soul, a hard worker, and always there to offer love, advice and support.
Marilyn…loving wife, mother, best and dearest friend…you will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved you.
“…and now for something completely different…”
Mom's favorite quote from the film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'
