Obituary For Jeanne Marie Steele

Jeanne Marie Steele, lovingly known as Nana, graced this world on December 5th, 1952, born to Shirley and Kenneth Follis. Jeanne was a woman of remarkable spirit—tenacious yet tender-hearted, she poured her love and faith into everything she did. Her unwavering devotion to God made her a steadfast prayer warrior, a beacon of strength to those around her.

Jeanne had a special affinity for pandas, evident in her collection of panda memorabilia, reflecting her unique and endearing personality. Though her passing on the morning of Saturday, March 23rd, came as a sudden shock, the memory of her love and warmth will endure in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

She is preceded in death by her former husband, James Steele-Harris, her parents Kenneth and Shirley Follis, her grandparents Charles and Pearl Harvey, her sister Joyce Williams, and her son Joey Blunt, among many other beloved family members.

Jeanne (Nana) leaves behind a legacy of love cherished by her children, Aimee Robinson and Nicole Steele-Veracruz; her grandchildren Andrew Robinson, Karlee Brimmage (and James), Stephanie Veracruz, Emilee Robinson, Kayjuan Steele-Johnson (and Maddy), James Steele-Johnson, Divinitee Steele-Hunter, and Alejandra Steele-Hunter; and her great-grandchildren Connor Brimmage, Rylee Robinson, Lionel Barquet, DeAndre Robinson, Laniah Barquet, Andrew Robinson Jr., Lucious Robinson, Maya Robinson, Lorenzo Barquet, Petra Robinson, and Enrique Torres.

She is also survived by her aunt Sharon Newstrom (and Roy), niece Sharon Williams, nephew Tom Evanson, and great-nephews Aidan Williams and Brayden Williams. Though Jeanne (Nana) has departed this world, her love remains eternally alive in the hearts of those who knew her.

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, and he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

She was the best grandmother/Nana that a man could ask for. Always on my side. Always had my back. And she will be forever loved and missed.
