On Tuesday June 18th, 2019 Douglas James Brueske, loving and devoted husband of Penny Louise (Reeder) Brueske and Father of Jamie Everett Douglas Brueske passed away at Saint Joseph hospital at the age of 67.

Douglas was born to Alfred and Agnes Brueske in Renton Washington on December 5th, 1951, a day which according to him would live in infamy, as he was fond of making jokes and puns. He had 3 siblings Kathy, Dave and Bill.

He graduated from Hazen High School in Renton as part of its first senior class, he entered the navy going to language classes in Monterey California, as we’ll as going through sere school or Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape. Near the end of the conflict in Vietnam my dad would spend time in country going on mission’s flying over enemy territory and listening to north Vietnamese communications

At the end of his 4-year tour of service, Doug returned to civilian life and would meet Penny Reeder his future wife. Seeking out adventure Doug traveled to Louisiana hoping to catch on with the deep-sea diving industry. Unfortunately, he would be unsuccessful. In California he married Penny Reeder.

Doug enjoyed working out, often going for runs, bike rides, and hiking. Additionally, he enjoyed reading and collecting memorabilia for his favorite fictional heroes, primarily Doc Savage and the Incredible Hulk. When he was seeking more cerebral activities he enjoyed studying and playing chess. Despite being a private person, he touched many people’s lives including the people he worked with, and his family with his razor-sharp wit and general good humor.

Doug Brueske was preceded in death by his father Alfred and mother, Agnes. He is survived by his wife Penny, his son Jamie, daughter in-law Samantha, brother Dave, and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Doug Brueske was laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery on July 2nd, 2019. A memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 6th, 2019 at Grace Fellowship of Kent, Washington at 1 o’clock.
