Obituary For Diana Marie Dena

Diana Marie Dena was born in Seattle, Washington on January 15, 1950, and passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on October 15, 2023. Diana graduated from Highline High School in Burien, Washington in June of 1968 and attended Highline Community College.

Recognized as an accomplished artist and published poet, Diana was nominated to associate membership of The National Museum of Women in the Arts and served as a docent for The Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert. Her work has been exhibited at The Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Springs, California, and at The Highline Community Arts Center in Seattle, Washington.

Diana never forgot her child within and enjoyed teaching children the pleasure of feeling rocks, touching trees, and the gentle embrace of an animal. She also loved gardening, playing the piano, reading, strolling through museums, and taking walks in the woods.

Diana is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Andrew Dena, her daughters Melissa Van Ogle, Rebecca Thompson (Brien), 3 grandsons whom she loved dearly, Dylan Van Ogle, Hunter Van Ogle, Benjamin Thompson, brothers Mike Dunne (JoAnn), Dennis Dunne (Vonnie), sisters Donna Aloisio (Pete), Dorian Eldridge, Darlene Jones (Jeff), Deborah Sorum, brothers and sisters-in-law, David Dena (Jane), Maria McFarlane, Jess Dena, Sal Dena (Barbara), Ruben Dena, Martha Dena and over 100 nieces and nephews.

Interred at Tacoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
