Obituary For Conalyn (Connie) Margaret Cooper
Conalyn (Connie) Margaret Cooper, 79, of Kent, WA, passed away on February 28, 2023 of natural causes at her home.
Connie was born on June 18, 1943 to Leonard A Cooper and Margaret R Cooper in Walla Walla, WA. After Connie graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1961, she went on to study Education at the University of Idaho. During her collegiate career she gained membership to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and was named to the dean’s list numerous times.
After graduation, Connie went onto becoming a teacher of English and Social Studies at Meeker Middle School in Kent, WA where she taught for 43 years. She also spent many years as the Meeker cheerleading coach. Connie had close bonds to her students and certainly made a difference in their lives and academic careers.
Connie greatly enjoyed fashion, art, reading, music, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She had a close relationship with her brother Curt who provided tremendous support to her throughout the years.
Connie was predeceased by her father Leonard Cooper, mother Margaret Cooper, brother Curtis Cooper, and numerous uncles and aunts. She is survived by her son Chad Cooper, daughter-in-law Olivia Cooper, sister in law Jan Cooper, niece Cristie Cooper-Trenbeath and nephew-in-law Brian Trenbeath, nephew Craig Cooper and niece-in-law Melissa Roberts, grandchildren Chase, Ciera, Callie and Cole Cooper, great nieces Mia Trenbeath, Piper Trenbeath, Hazel Cooper, and Edith Cooper, cousin Jaydene Chandler and cousin-in-law John Chandler, and her best friend Ron Ellis.
A celebration of life ceremony for Connie will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer fund.
