Obituary For Adelina Marquez Dacanay
Adelina Marquez Dacanay, a loving wife, generous mother, thoughtful sister, doting grandmother, caring great grandmother, and supportive friend, passed away July 16, 2022 at the age of 87.
Born to parents Alfredo and Felisa Marquez on December 17th, 1934 in Paranaque, Philippines. She spent her childhood and adulthood years in the Philippines where she attended St. Paul College Paranaque, before she left to US in 1971 with her 3 children.
Adelina’s joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she considered to be God’s greatest gift to her. She also loved spending her days making the best food for everyone. Her passion for cooking even drove her to open up her own restaurant back in 1990-1997 in the Seattle University District, WA. Not only had she shared best foods, but her warmest smile and kindness as well. Anyone who knew her could always count on her offering help and making sure everyone felt loved. She was a selfless, strong, courageous woman in spite of all the challenges. Indeed, her effort is worth remembering.
Adelina is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marcos Jr. and her son, Gerard. She is survived by her 2 children, Ana and Marcos III.
A viewing will be held Saturday, July 30th, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Cady Cremation Services & Funeral Home located at 8418 S 222nd St., Kent, WA 98031, with a prayer vigil service at 1:00 pm presided by Fr. Xavier Bazil and a rosary service at 2:00 pm by Group of Parishioners from St. Anthony.

I am very surprised and saddened to hear about mommy Adelina passing. I feel this is a privilege for me to say goodbye, and the best of all, the privilege to have known her as my mother-in-law. My time I remembered with you mommy, Adelina...you were the glue to the family and loved them so deeply, and nevertheless, the best loving grandmother, what a blessing you gave. Thank you, for teaching me at a very young age..."family comes first". I know YOU will be very deeply miss. Praying for The Family to find comfort in her memories, the love she gifted, and knowledge that others are missing her, too. 🙏So much RESPECT, I love you All. Rose
