Recent Obituaries

Vivian left us peacefully on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Selby South Dakota to Thomas and Anna (Byre) Holder on October 22, 1938. She was the 4th child of 7. She attended Lindberg Country School until the 8th grade and then graduated from Selby high school. On January 17, 1957 she married Lyle Ford and had 5 children. They moved from South Dakota in 1967 to raise their family in Seattle.

Vivian spent many years waitressing at various local restaurants. She enjoyed camping at Lake Limerick with her family and the occasional trip to the casino with her partner in crime Roberta Casey.

Vivian is survived by her daughters Jody (Doug Espeseth), Lyla (Bob Volk) and sons Rodney (Michelle) and Tommy (Dianne), brother John Holder and sister Darlene Fjeldsted, grandchildren Nichole Harrison (Max), Kristina Dorer (Tom), TJ Ford (Lindsay), Samantha Chucka (Ben), Kyle Plante, Jeremy Espeseth (Trisha), Casey Espeseth (Lindsey), Ashley Chism (Tim), and Nicole Chucka. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, Lane, Reagan, Marley, Faye, Riley, Alice, Carter, Dakota and Henry.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years Lyle, her infant son Arlyn Ray, both parents Thomas and Anna Holder, 2 brothers Wayne Holder, Franklin Holder and 2 sisters Marilyn Faulkner and Joyce Kosters.

Vivian will be deeply missed by her family and friends with her feisty, fun loving directness.

A memorial service will be held at Cady’s Funeral Home, 8418 S. 222nd St, Kent WA 98031 at 11:30 am. followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Park, 350 Monroe Ave NE, Renton WA 98056, with a reception following at Steeple Chase Condos 1500 S. 18th St, Renton WA 98055
