Phyllis (Mitzel) Vollan

Born 12/27/1926 – Passed away 5/7/2019

Born in Pierce County, North Dakota , passed away peacefully in Seattle, Washington.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband James L. Vollan (2010) and her parents, Andrew and Angela, siblings; Frances, Barbara, Mary, Katherine, Elizabeth, Andrew, Frank and Conrad. She leaves behind 5 children;

Carol, Jim, Angie (Wade), Renee (Ray), Sandy (Tom) and 3 grandchildren; Stephanie, Jamie and Wyre. Plus numerous nieces and nephews.

The youngest of 9 children, she moved to Seattle in 1957 with her husband and 2 year old Carol in tow. Eventually settling in West Seattle in 1966. She was a homemaker, but worked for a short time as a nurses aide in West Seattle, and a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She loved to garden and watch Wheel of Fortune and for the past few years, she loved to color. She also loved the slots in Vegas, going whenever possible. She so much enjoyed her grandchildren, spending as much time as possible with them. Her family was everything to her and she will always be greatly loved and missed.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, June 1st from 1:00 to 4:00pm at Carol & Jim’s.
