Obituary For Paula Suzanne Ellis

Paula Ellis, age 68, of Covington, Washington died May 13th, 2021. She was born on November 11, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. Paula requested the following poem in lieu of a traditional obituary.

SHE IS GONE

You can shed tears that she is gone Or you can smile because she has lived You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her Or you can be full of the love that you shared You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday You can remember her and only that she is gone Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back Or you can do what she would want: Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Paula will be deeply missed by her family and loved ones. Her spirit will live on in our hearts and memories of those who knew her. Cremation services provided by Cady Funeral Home.

In memory of my sweet daughter-in-law, Paula. She was so kind and thoughtful. I loved her beautiful smile and those big dimples. I only saw her in person a few times, as we mostly lived many miles apart. She, Don and Jason did live in Princeton, Indiana for a time and we visited. I know she was a really good seamstress and even made her wedding gown. She was so good to send lots of pictures. One time when they were visiting in Indiana, she spent a night or two with me. I loved it and I think she did too. I loved seeing pictures of all the activities that they did with Jade and Jason. She made simple, small things special. I will cherish her memory, smile and will always love her, Don, Jason and Jade. Love, Marge Ellis (Grandma Marge)

Paula was a very sweet sister-in-law. I will always remember her smile, dimples, kindness and sweet, friendly disposition. I enjoyed every time she and her family would come to visit. I wish we could have lived closer. Her love of family was evident in all the special things she did. I loved seeing pictures of family celebrations and the nice things she did, such as sewing a poodle skirt for Jade. She was such a blessing to her family. Condolences to my brother, Don, and nephew, Jason and great niece, Jade. Love, Cinda

One True Friend As I stop to count my blessings, There is one thing which rings true, I’ll always be so grateful, for the friend I found in you! Grateful for the special times We’ve shared throughout the years, Times that brought us closer, Through our laughter and our tears. Grateful just to have someone, As kind and good as you, To share my finest moments with, And share my sorrows too. And when I look upon my life, What matters in the end, Is that I was really lucky To find one true, loyal friend as you! ~ Anonymous I have known Paula 45 years. We were partners in mischief, adventures, and quiet moments. My dearest friend. We were as close as some sister’s. She never judged. She accepted me in every way. She has always been there for me. I do not know what I will do without her. I am grateful that her last 6 years years of suffering has passed. Paula, I love you and you are missed. No one can replace you.

Your beautiful straight shiny hair with that stubborn cowlick in the front, your dimples and your easy laugh. Oh, we had such fun together. The sleep overs – you would grind your teeth when you were sleeping – drove me crazy. We played with over sized baby dolls, you made them clothes, we dressed them up. Roller skating, and the best games of Spit in the Ocean ever! You were always kind and helpful. You cleaned up after Thanksgiving dinners with the family. And through your illness you put up with a lot of shit and you still kept your sense of humor. I will miss you and I love you. Judy

My deepest condolences. Thank you for being there, when I needed you. You were like a mom to me. Love you

My mom was a remarkable mother that I could always count on for support and advice from childhood to adulthood. She was an even more remarkable and incredible grandma to Jade, with whom she loved more than anything else in this world. Jade and her grandma were very close. My mom battled and suffered for years with a rare and downright awful condition known as CRPS / RSD (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome / Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). My dad, Donald Ellis, was her primary caregiver and did an absolutely amazing job caring and being there for her and her needs. He was there for her through thick and thin. Mom, I love you very much. Thank you for all that you did for me and all the sacrifices you made for me. I will think about you every day. Rest in peace. Your son, Jason
