Obituary For Laurence Ray Harbolt

Laurence Ray “Larry” Harbolt, age 60, of Upper Preston, WA passed away February 23rd 2025. He was born May 4, 1964 in Seattle, WA to Ray E. and Carol M. (McGuire) Harbolt. Larry was raised primarily in Issaquah, WA, and was the second of three children.

As a child, Larry was a member of Indian Guides and 4-H. He received many blue ribbons at the King County Fair! He also attended confirmation classes, and was confirmed as a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. After high school, Larry apprenticed with construction companies, eventually specializing in underground construction. He was a team foreman and responsible for obtaining all of the permits for the installation of underground utilities.

Larry always experienced life to the fullest, and that included his love of family and friends. He had two beautiful daughters: Jamie and Danielle (Dani). He also had a very special friendship with Melody Sullivan. They took care of each other for many years up until Larry’s passing.

No one could tell a story like Larry could! He had very clever wit and had various ways of expressing it. He easily developed friendships with others, and would do just about anything to help out a buddy in need. Some of Larry’s friendships extended back into his early childhood. Larry also had a passion for animals—especially for the various dogs that he had throughout his life.

In his later years, Larry was dedicated to helping out his parents. He often went to see them, and would run a variety of errands for them. In addition to this, Larry REALLY ENJOYED watching sports on television. He was a big Seahawk fan, and would often watch games with his father via texting together.

Larry was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his best friend and life partner Melody, daughters Danielle and Jamie Harbolt, sisters Deanna Harbolt Hayes (Michael) and Kathryn A. Rotter (Matthew), nephews Zach (Tracey) and Joel Rotter, niece Emma (Andrew) Nolan, and great-grand nieces Josephine and Drew. Larry cared deeply about others and always found ways to connect with people. It was his joy to help others. In honor of Larry, and in lieu of flowers or other memorials, we ask you to consider connecting with someone else in a way that will impact their life in a positive way.

A Celebration of Life gathering for Larry Harbolt will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in Anderson Hall at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Light refreshments will be served along with some great story telling about Larry. The church is located at 745 Front Street S. Issaquah, WA 98027. This is a casual event, and the wearing of Seahawk colors is encouraged. All are welcome!
