Recent Obituaries

On January 9, 2021 Enas Vivian Epperson, 86, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Renton,Washington.

Enas is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Chikako Epperson; and four sons James (Machelle), Mitch (Val), Terry, and Robert (Cathy). He also leaves behind six grandchildren; Christine (Josh), James Jr. (Tereza), Justin (Viviane), Heather, Ryan (Abigail), McKenzie, and seven great grandchildren.

He was born on April 4, 1934 in Kingman, Arizona to Frank and Goldie Epperson. As a teenagerhe moved to Renton, Washington where he graduated from Renton High School in 1953. In 1957 he was drafted into the Army where he proudly served. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan he met and later married his wife on June 19, 1959. In 1960 he joined the Washington Army National Guard while continuing his work to become a journeyman electrician. He worked full-time while raising young boys with his wife, and graduated in 1966 from Washington Technical Institute. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers until his retirement in 1996, after he worked on the completion of Emerald Downs.

Enas was a devoted husband and father, loved his family deeply, and always put them first. He cherished playing a part in raising his grandchildren. Nothing brought him more joy than spending quality time with his family and pets. He will be buried with military honors at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
