Obituary For Dale Eugene Gerard
Dale Eugene Gerard “Unc”
Dale was born to Erma and William Gerard on August 17, 1932 in Seattle, WA and was the second of five sons. Dale grew up in Renton hunting, fishing and fixing up cars in the family’s hobby garage alongside his brothers. The Army came calling and Dale proudly served his country during the Korean War.
Dale’s strong faith in God and family kept him close to home for many years after his discharge. He never wavered in his love of God and became a licensed/ordained minister in the 70’s. He worked for PACCAR and Boeing while caring for his mother, brothers and many nieces and nephews and loved to surprise all with treats and pastries on Fridays.
Alaska came calling in the early 90’s and Dale moved to the Land of the Midnight Sun and retired. He returned to Washington for his final years to be near his loving family and now will be laid to rest near his oldest brother.
“Unc” loved the outdoors and went camping and canoeing whenever he could. He also loved people and had a “gift for gab”. Swinging and storytelling on the outdoor swing and appreciating a good car ride were two of his favorite ways to relax. He enjoyed reading his Bible, attending prayer meetings, singing Gospel and was a large presence in his church community.

Jolene Meiran Hansen
The Gerard family was our neighbor in the mid 1950’s to early 1960’s and marring my little sister. Dale was a great friend and wonderful person. Sorry to hear of his passing. But does give me comfort that he is home with his maker and loved ones. From all the Meiran family ❤️
