Obituary For Charles Dean Rohde
Charles Dean Rohde (68) of Kent, WA passed away May 4, 2025 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his mother, JoLynne Rohde, sons Jerry Rohde (Jessica), Daniel Rohde (Jamie), and Ryan Rohde (Tiffany), stepdaughter Holly Dunaway (Anthony) and stepson Richard Balboni (Crystal). He also is survived by his sisters Jenny Horning (Ray), Wendy Rohde and Jeri Taylor (Michael). He is survived by 16 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father Roy Rohde.
Born in Pendleton, Oregon on November 10, 1956, Charles (Chuck) had a love of aviation from a young age and started flying lessons at age 14. He obtained his private pilot’s license, commercial pilots license and instructors license before graduation from Hermiston High School in 1975. Chuck earned an Associate’s Degree in Aviation Mechanics in 1978 and moved to Anchorage Alaska where he had a career as a bush pilot. In 1984 he moved to the Spokane Valley area where he worked as an Aviation Maintenance Supervisor for Felt’s Field Aviation. He worked for Boeing from 2007 to 2018 when he retired.
Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, rockhounding, hiking and spending time with family. He also got much enjoyment remembering his years as a youth working on his uncle’s farm. His enjoyment of the outdoors and his love for his family and God were an inspiration to those who knew and loved him. He will be missed.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Pendleton, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lewey Body Dementia Association.
