Obituary For Arthura Eileen Zumek
Arthura Eileen Zumek, age 92, passed away peacefully on November 11th. Eileen, as she was known to friends, was born on January 18th, 1929 to Arthur and Effie Kelly in the town of Black Diamond, Washington.
It was in Black Diamond where Eileen grew up and met her husband of 67 years, Joseph Zumek. They married in 1954 and remained together until his passing.
An avid cook and baker, Eileen’s specialty were cookies, strudels, and pies. Many would say that she made the best pies, especially her black berry in which she would only use hand-picked wild mountain black berries. She would remain a “foodie” her entire life.
Eileen is survived by her two sons, Kelly and Lou along with their spouses Jennifer and Nancy respectively, her grandchildren Jesse & Ryan along with many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Eileen’s name to the Enumclaw branch of the VFW, Black Diamond’s Historical Society, or a charity of choice.
